And the story Continues . . .
ONCE UPON A TIME
MELODY WILLOW
AFTER I BECAME FRIENDS WITH CAMERON, KY BECAME MORE AND MORE DISTANT. “HE MUST  HAVE SOMEONE HE’S INTERESTED IN “ I THOUGHT. SO I DIDN’T BOTHER, WHEN I’M WITH HIM I FEEL LIKE IT’S AWKWARD.
KY JONES
I FELT LIKE CAMERON AND I HAD THE SAME FEELINGS FOR MELODY. WE WOULD ACT LIKE WE ARE FRIENDS IN FRONT OF MELODY, BUT ACT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WHEN SHE’S OUT OF SIGHT. I DON’T HANG OUT WITH MELODY AS MUCH BECAUSE CAMERON KEEP BUZZING AROUND HER ALL DAY LONG. WHEN I AM AROUND HER I STARTED TO REALIZED HOW LUCKY I WAS TO HAVE MET HER AND IS HER FRIEND. NOW WHEN I’M AROUND HER I GET FLUSTERED AND I TRY TO AVOID HER. I WISH SOMEDAY MAYBE WE COULD BE MORE THAN FRIENDS. BUT IF SHE FINDS OUT MY OTHER SIDE WOULD SHE STILL WILLINGLY BE MY FRIEND?
CAMERON ROBERT
I HAD NEVER HAD THIS FEELING. I FEEL WARM AND FLUSTERED WHEN I’M AROUND HER. EVERYDAY I GO TO SLEEP THINKING ABOUT HER, I WAKE UP THINKING ABOUT HER. “WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!” THE MOST I GET CLOSER TO HER THE MORE I LIKE HER, THE MORE I FIND AMAZING ABOUT HER. IT FEELS ALMOST  REFRESHING. HER SMILE, HER LAUGHTER, EVERYTHING ABOUT HER MAKES ME OUTRAGEOUSLY ELATED. BUT IN THE CORNER OF MY EYE I ALWAYS SEE KY AROUND THE CORNER SOMEWHERE, JUST SMILING SADLY AT US. I DECIDED HE WASN’T SO BAD AFTER ALL, MAYBE WE COULD BE FRIENDS. . . SOMEHOW.
KY JONES
SHE WAS ALWAYS THE LIGHT OF MY BORING LIFE. MY PARENTS ARE FIGHTING. BOTH MY YOUNGER BROTHER AND SISTER SEEMED TO BLAME THEMSELVES FOR NOT BEING GOOD. I ,TOO, PERSONALLY BLAME MYSELF. BUT NOW EVEN MELODY IS BEING TAKEN AWAY FROM ME. I FEEL SO HOPELESS. THEN DISASTER STRUCK. MY MOM FELL ILL. MY DAD IS CRYING, HEARTBROKEN, SAYING THAT HE TAKE BACK EVERYTHING HE SAID , THAT HE WAS SORRY, HE WAS WRONG. MELODY KNEW ABOUT THIS TOO OF COURSE.  SHE BEGAN TO HANG OUT WITH ME AGAIN, TRYING TO CHEER ME UP. BUT IT ONLY MADE MY ANGER BOIL. I DON’T NEED HER PITY. I TOOK OUT ALL MY ANGER ON HER, SHE ONLY SMILED, WITH TEARS ROLLING DOWN HER CHEEKS, STEPPED CLOSER TO ME, AND HUGGED ME. HER EMBRACE WAS WARM, A LIGHT PULLING ME OUT OF THE DARK. WITHOUT THINKING I LEANED IN . . .
MELODY WILLOWS

KY CAME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY WITH A GLOOMY FACE AND A GLARE THAT COULD MAKE A PERSON ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCHOOL SHIVER. HE SEEMED . . . OFF. LIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON. I THEN FOUND OUT ABOUT HIS FAMILY ISSUES. I DECIDED THAT WAS THE REASON WHY HE HAD BEEN AVOIDING ME. I CAUGHT UP WITH HIM AFTER SCHOOL. I TRIED TO CHEER HIM UP, WHATEVER I COULD. BUT HE SEEM TO FADE AWAY EVEN MORE. TILL ONE DAY, I UNDERSTOOD WHY. I THOUGHT I WAS PITTING HIM. I WASN’T THERE FOR HIM WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I STEPPED UP TO HIM AND HUGGED HIM. I WHISPERED, “I’M SO SORRY.” HE WARMED UP, AND BEFORE I COULD RESPOND HE LEANED IN, HIS LIPS ON MINE I COULD TASTE THE SALTINESS OF EITHER MINE OR HIS TEARS.

Mark and the Adventure to the Future

...Mark was speechless. He knew he would eventually have the courage to talk to the king
“Edgar” the king said. “Take him to his room so he can rest.  Tomorrow we will discuss the plan so he can be on his way. We can not delayed this any longer.”
“Yes my lord” said Edgar. Turning to Mark he said “Follow me I will lead you to your room”
Mark follow the advisor again down the twisting hallways. It would have take me months to remember how to get from one place to another thought Mark.
When they arrived at his room Mark was speechless again. The room was fitted for a prince. Mark never thought that he would have a chance to rest in a room like this. Mark walk over to the closet and open it inside there were new clothes that fit him perfectly. The advisor must have order the maids to put new clothes in the closet for him. Next Mark walk over to the bed. When he sat down it was as soft as cotton. I must be dreaming about this. But all of it seem so real thought Mark. Mark Turn to the advisor and said “Edgar can you pinch me really hard?”
“Why do you want me to do that?” asked Edgar
    “Just do it” answered Mark
Edgar walks over to Mark and pinch him really, really hard.

“Ow” said Mark “I guess this isn’t a dream then”...

Rock Bottom journal piece

Rock Bottom
By: Gwendolyn Sze

It all happened at once. One minute I was gossiping with Charlotte on her balcony, and then she was plummeting towards the ground. Once I saw her body on the concrete, stained with her blood, I let out a blood curdling scream. “CHARLOTTE!” I cried. I let out a shuddering sob and fell to my knees. I suddenly dashed inside to my phone. My hands shook as I dialed 911.
“911, what’s your emergency?” a tired lady said. I couldn’t blame her, it was 1:30 in the morning.
“My-my my fri-friend, shh-she f-ff-fell…” I sputtered.
“What? Say that for me again sweetie.” the lady said softly, as if I was a toddler.
“My friend fell off her balcony and she is bleeding on the sidewalk!!” I screamed at her. “Y-y-you h-h-hav-e t-to hh-help h-er. P-p-lease.” I begged.
“What’s the address? We’re coming over right now.” she said in a very urgent and demanding tone.
I gave her my address, and was about to thank her and tell her to hurry, but the line went dead. She had hung up on me.

A few minutes later, an ambulance and the police came. They rushed her into the ambulance. The 3 policemen came over to me and asked me some questions. After that happened, I called a cab to go to the hospital they were keeping Charlotte at.

I burst into the tranquil waiting room, and saw the receptionist jump out of her sleep. “Y-yes?’ she said. She looked worried as if I was trying to mug her.
“What room is Charlotte Sanders being kept in?” I asked desperately.
“I Don’t know sweetie, she is still in the E.R.” the receptionist said grimmly.
“Oh……” I trailed off. “O-ok, I’ll just wait here then…..” I said, pointing to an incredibly uncomfortable looking office chair.
“I’m sorry, really, I am....” The receptionist called.
----------------------------------
I was shaken awake by someone, and out of habit, I grumbled, “One more minute mom….”
“UP! NOW!” I heard a stern voice say.
“Ok, ok, I’m up! Good Lord, are you happy now?!” I whined.
. “Your friend is out of the E.R! She’s in room 205, now GO!” said the receptionist said to me.
I ran towards the stairs, and sprinted up to the second floor.
I burst into the room, panting while being hunched over. Everyone was staring at me. I couldn’t blame them though, it was a very startling entrance.
“Wh-where is C-charlotte Sanders-s?” I huffed out.
“Right here.” a man in a white lab coat said, gesturing towards a bed besides him.
“Charlotte!” I rushed over to her bed. My face fell. She was still unconscious.
What-what happened?” I yelled at the man in the lab coat.
“She is in a coma.....

Water by Maya Nielsen (for journal)

You jump. You feel all the blood rush to your head. You are plunging down into a big pool of water. You are terrified.
(New paragraph, tab) “Put your arms up!” your diving coach says. You have no idea what to do. You just keep plunging and all of a sudden the top of your head hits the water. The rest of your body follows. The next thing you know you have opened your eyes in the chlorine-filled pool. You know you shouldn’t be but otherwise you can’t see where you’re going. You feel like you are sinking, and then you realize that you are. You swim up to the surface of the water and breathe very deeply. Someone helps you out of the pool and you lie down on the edge. You ask for a towel and someone gets it for you. You are breathing very deeply in and out, in and out.
(New paragraph, tab) Suddenly, you start crying and your mom comes and picks you up. You cry into her bare arm and she carries you down the hall of the swimming pool. She carries you all the way out of the gym and into the car. She drives you home. When you arrive, your dad comes out of your house and carries you into the house and lies you down on the couch. Soon after, your mom gets you a mug of hot chocolate, with marshmallows, just how you like it. She also turns on the TV to your favorite show. You smile and tell her thank you. When the episode is over, you fall asleep on the couch and dream about not having to do anything ever.

The Adventures In The Book With NO Name

Part One By Joshua Monrose

“I'm not going to do it,” Carl said. “Why not,” i prompt. Carl is my best friend. Well, i would say he's sometimes more than that to me. I feel that he's secretly my long lost brother. We’ve been together pretty much since birth. Carl’s always been the competitive one. Since we were born, Carl’s main job was to try and be better than me. He was the first one to walk. The first one to talk. The first one to get a girlfriend. Pretty much everything. Even tho he’s always technically ahead of me i feel like he's just trying to be better than me because he knows in a way i am ahead of him. I know it is confusing. Carl is about six foot two while i'm at the shorter end of the line about five foot five. He has short red hair while i have orange-ish hair with a tint of light blue around it. I know my hair is a bit weird but for the most part i don’t even mind. Most people (including myself) don't even know how my hair got this way. The color my hair is, isn't available for miles on end. If you want your hair to be this color, you have to have naturally which is really weird. I think for the most part my hair has always orange-ish but something happened that changed it at the front. Carl has a straight nose with stabbing sea blue eyes. My nose is also straight but my eyes are the color of my hair. For the most part. Well sometimes there orange and sometimes there light blue. Most people think this is just (I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO CALL IT) so they don't care but I think there is more to it than that. I dunno maybe i'm just crazy or maybe i'm like super secret genius level IQ or something I dunno. Carl is pretty muscular which is the same for me, seriously. Carl Tries to stall but i'm not falling for it. “ C'mon bro just do it” I say. “Nah I think I hurt my leg last time” . Just as he readies himself up……. The bell rings, TRIGGERED. As we go home I spot a vagabond  that I've seen before. But i don't know how. I've never met with a homeless person. EVER. There're  not what I call safe. I mean when you come into close encounters to death just by wanting to help someone live a better life. Oh you might be wondering how the heck am I going to die if I give a hobo like 5 cents. Well I kinda forgot to tell you that the world I live is near the brink of complete destruction. I know it might sound like there is complete chaos but its not THAT bad. Every-one at the age of 5 was train to protect them self from things. It didn't really matter what these things were but we were ok with that. The thing is that we sometimes get invaded by other life forms. Sometimes other humans, then the next day random aliens. Sometimes these aliens can take the form of other things so they take the form of hobos lead you into an ally, then try to kill you. Some pretty bad stuff can happen, that's all i'm saying. The thing that threw me off with this vagabond is that it seemed to be watching me. I quickly think about all the deaths that have happened lately and quicken my pace. To my utter disbelief and terror it seem to be like the vagabond is following me. I walk quicker. The vagabond quickens also. At last I cant take it anymore and break into a run. I had some experience in Track N Field but apparently it's not enough. The vagabond right behind me. Desperate i take a sharp turn. OOps. I'm in a alleyway, a dead end. I wait ready to be pounced on. Nothing. I turn around, and see the vagabond. The vagabond slowly takes of its hood. It has the same hair as me. The exact same colors. What it says next i will never forget. With tears in it's eyes the vagabond says “Hello Brother” .

Object memoir

From the perspective of the lilac-papered wall, there was something wrong with the family the minute they walked through the bedroom door. There was no love in their embrace, no happiness as they tucked their marriage license safely into the cabinet of the wooden drawer in the corner. And the amount of objects thrown in the wall’s direction said there was no joy in the marriage itself, either.

The wall found no glee when they discovered the woman’s pregnancy, just hushed voices arguing about outrageous crib prices. No one smiled as the baby, glowing with cheerfulness, entered the gray house, just grimaced at its wails. The child stayed bubbly and bright until it began to speak and realized that these people were worn down by hardship, their wills tattered and shook by life’s cruelty. Soon it, too, had faded into the background and almost disappeared completely.

Once upon a time . . .

Once upon a time. . ." wait erase that," One Day "no"When-" Urgh. Okay well on with the story!"

The sun was shinning in my eyes, it's a hot and humid day. He took my hand and said  "Let's go!" with a smirk. We were finally together. His name was-

"Wait a second let's rewind a little."

January 24, 2048

Melody

It was beautifully covered in delicate snow. I had just moved to a city called Amour.

My name was Melody Willows. I was 2 years old. Even though I was really young I knew my parents were hiding a secret. Our neighbors came to greet us. There was a little boy with golden blond hair, dark blue eyes, his cheeks was tinted with a light pink. He looked about my age, his face seems in shock. I went up to him, and grabbed his hand and led him into my new house. After that day he came over every day and played with me. "Bye honey I'll be home in a while."said my mom. After a while I heard ding dong, I ran to the door and threw it open. I was desperate for some company, and there he was just when I needed someone. His name was Jay Jones Soon it was my birthday and it was just me, him, and his family in my humongous palace-like-mansion. I urged for them to stay with me, so I won't be lonely, they did of course. I was turning three and soon going to school. Jay, my first and best friend, had a secret.

Jay

I was here the moment I was born I was in this house. I'm turning 3 years old tomorrow,  The next day, i had my birthday and I got my gifts. Like any other 3 year old I was really excited. I wish for someone to play with me to be my friend. Little did I know, my wish came true. The next day a little around my age moved to he mansion that was right next door. My family went over to welcome them. They left the door wide open so we went up the stairs. At first, there was anyone, but i caught a small foot come down the stairs. It was a little girl with silky strawberry blond hair that reached her waist. She had the most beautiful eyes and face I had ever seen.

Melody

“Will you be my. . .”

Ky

MY heart was thumping hard. I thought I would die of nervousness. The whole world slowed down. She also had a beautiful voice. It’s suits her name.

Melody

“Friend?”

Narrator

Melody’s birthday had passed.Soon they both went to school, the same schools, the same classes, it didn’t seem like a coincidence. But no one could change the classes and schools of who goes where. NO ONE. But no one spoke up.All went on “normally”, for both of them. Both Melody and Ky were both popular in school, and both really don’t like it.

Melody

*Inhales*,*Exhales*.”Ahhhhhhh, finally freedom.” I sat down next to Ky on the soft grass, years passed quickly we’re already 14, in middle school almost high school. We were always popular in school because of our beauty and my family’s money. A lot of times I was shipped with Ky, and named “world’s cutest couple” in school. Then, from up behind a boy’s voice said” ahem,um, melody. . .” Even though he didn’t say anything I could tell what he was gonna say. “ I have liked you for a long time, would you be my girlfriend?” I didn’t would to  be harsh so I decided to politely decline. But, then Ky put his arm around me and said “ she’s mine.” So after that we start to fake date, until one day a boy, Cameron Roberts, a transfer student came to our classroom.

Cameron

Today was my first day of school, since young I was homeschooled, today was actually my first step outside of my mansion. I wasn’t even allowed to make friends outside. Only one dared to come in by climbing in the fences. MY first laugh, my first friend. But one unfortunate day I had to move, I cried, screamed, protested, begged, everything I could so I could stay but nothing worked. The day i had to move, I waited for him but he didn’t come. I felt broken, shattered, I felt like couldn’t trust anymore. But when I walked in the classroom every girl started whispering. All the boys looked gloomy. I looked around the room the was one one girl didn’t seemed interested in me. She was strikingly gorgeous she caught me staring at her and she smiled at me. Then I heard the teacher say “ now Cameron would you like to introduce yourself?”
I smiled.”sure.” It all passe day really fast, soon it was lunch. The girl came up to me and asked “would you like to join us for lunch?” ‘Us’ I thought. Then a boy came up behind her, and said “come on.” He started dragging her,”wait” I said she looked almost surprised. “Oh, by the way my name’s melody Willows and this is my…”, “boyfriend” she slapped him and he chuckled and she said”pretend-boyfriend, Ky Kawaii.” I smirked and hed out my hand “ Cameron Roberts, well you know that already.” Soon i began trusting again, we became best friends but would it be more with melody?

Ky

When he came in I felt a feeling that kinda hurt, like jealousy. He was looking at her and she was smiling at him.’I don’t think I’ll get along with him’ but then at lunch, it was the complete opposite. For some reason I valued his decisions. He became a quick popular, smart, athletic, handsome, almost ‘Perfect’. But everyone has a weak spot, although I can’t seem to find that side. Soon, I could see that he had a ‘thing’ for Melody. My feelings for her began to grow too, would I stay in the friend zone or could it be more?

To Be Continued . . .

The summary of my plot is incomplete, because the main character has gone on strike and decided to write her own story.

The characters are nonexistent at the moment, because they have refused to let me dictate their lives for another chapter. As a result, I have no control over their names, appearance or personalities anymore.

The conflict has been vetoed because the characters seem to have gotten the idea that I cause them too much grief.

The setting has been changed drastically, seeing as all the characters have run away.

The theme was never really a thing, and any sort of a theme that might have been is gone due to, as I mentioned previously, the character strike.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

New Girl by Maya Nielsen

New Girl
By Maya Nielsen

Chapter 1

The first day of school is my favorite day of the entire year except for my birthday. And that year I was turning 13, so it would be the best year of my life. I love the first day of school because everyone can see how much I had changed from my old 6 grade self to my brand new amazing self. Especially at Hampton Gifted and Talented Middle School, where everything is about how good you are at everything.

Chapter 2

“Riss! How was your summer?”
“Oh it was just fab!” Rissa had been in Hawaii all summer and I had been at Adventure Sleepaway Camp for 4 weeks, so we could only Facetime twice. It was terrible, but that’s why I love the first day of school; so I could see Rissa again.
Just so you know, Rissa (Marissa for real) was my best friend up until a little less than half way through 6 grade. I know I said was, and I’ll explain more about that later.

Chapter 3

The first day of school at Hampton Middle was absolutely horrible. Rissa and I were in separate classes. We have never been in separate classes and I didn’t know what to do. I insisted to complain to the principal, but my homeroom teacher wouldn’t let me. Anyway, our story really begins a week after then first day of school, so let’s start there.

Chapter 4
(One week later)

She came in wearing her bright pink overalls that I would later come to adore. They are her signature look now; but more about that later.
“Welcome Naomi. You can sit over there next to Ruby,” Ms. Garcia said as she pointed in my direction. I was screaming inside because I had specifically asked on the first day of school not to have anyone sit next to me in protest of not having my best friend beside me. I crossed my arms over my chest and scrunched up my face as Naomi sat down next to me. I looked away as she looked at me, embarrassed that she saw me do that.
Ms. Garcia called me over to her desk as kids were leaving for gym class.
“I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in my class. I know you know this and I would like to talk to you further about it. But, now is not a good time. I will see you in detention this afternoon in Mr. Green’s classroom.”
“What? You can’t do that to me!” I yelled as she was pushing me out the door.
“Humph!” I said as I was walking out the door.

Chapter 5
(Later that afternoon, in detention)

Kids were throwing spitballs everywhere and I couldn’t take any more minutes of it. I gathered my things and simply walked out the door. It was a lot easier than I thought and I assumed the detention teacher didn’t even notice. Ms Garcia had left about 15 minutes ago, so nobody was watching me every second. I left the building and went home. When I got home, my mom asked me where i had been and i just said: “after school club” and she believed me.

Chapter 6
(One month later, Halloween right around the corner)

“Hey Riss, what are you going to be for Halloween?” I asked her at lunch.
“You know, I have no idea. But what about that girl Naomi?” she said. “I bet she’ll wear something weird like a sheet for a ghost. Weirdo!” she exclaimed as she pointed to Naomi.
“Hey Riss! That’s not so nice,” I told her.
“So? Since when do you care about Naomi?”
“I mean, I don’t really… but I don’t want anyone to be bullied I guess.”

Chapter 7
(Halloween night, Ruby’s house)

“How much candy did you get Riss?!” I asked her.
“I don’t know, a lot I guess.”
“Hey; why are you so negative?”
“Don’t you feel like we’re too old to go trick-or-treating?”
“No. Why, do you?”
“Yeah. I mean, I’m 13 and your turning 13 in December.”
“So?” I said as I was stuffing as many gummy bears in my mouth at a could.
“So, we’re teenagers. And everyone knows that teenagers don’t go trick-or treating.”
“Why does that have to be true for everyone though?”
“You know what, forget it,” she said and just left.

Chapter 8
(The next day)

Riss ignored me for the whole day. I didn’t understand what the whole deal about trick-or-treating was, but nevertheless, I didn’t talk to her. At lunch, I sat next to some people I didn't even know. They didn’t talk to me, and I didn’t talk to them either. So lunch was silent and I wasn’t used to it. I sure didn’t like it either. Around halfway through lunch, Naomi sat down next to me and started talking to the other people at the table. I knew she saw me but of course she ignored me because of what Riss did that day right before Halloween.
“Look, I’m sorry about what Marissa said that other day, but it really wasn’t my fault. In fact, when you left, I defended you and said how that what she said wasn’t so nice. So, could you please not ignore me?” I told her.
“Fine. But you have to promise not to be mean to me and also that your friend won’t be mean to me.”
“Ok.”

(From that day on, Ruby and Naomi were best friends forever because Naomi didn’t have any best friends and Ruby felt that Rissa wasn’t her friend anymore.)
